I thought Technology was giving me Freedom — Until I looked closer

The development of modern science has given humans immense power, but it also poses the danger that we may begin to view nature and our own lives solely from the perspective of use and control. If our choices remain confined to this limited perspective, they will be neither beneficial to humanity nor sustainable for nature.

Anew life is fundamentally a life of choices. We make small and big decisions every day, shaping our course. However, a significant shift is evident today. Previously, life was largely driven by constraints. Today, a large part of life is determined by choices. Technology has played a major role in this change. Technology has not only made our lives easier but has also given us the freedom to decide how we use our time and energy. Looking back at history, the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle said of slavery that slaves freed their masters from daily labor, allowing them to engage in higher intellectual and philosophical pursuits. Today, we consider slavery an inhumane system, and rightly so.

Since my home was destroyed in storm because a tree was fallen on my home and the home was destroyed and I don’t have enough money for it’s reconstruction. please help to to rebuild my home and please support me. I don’t have enough sources of earning and have enough money for livelihood.

If we consider this idea solely as a functional comparison, technology plays a similar role in modern society. Technology frees us from the tedious and repetitive tasks of everyday life, allowing us to give our lives more meaningful and creative direction. Today, washing machines wash clothes, gas and induction stoves make cooking easier, and digital platforms provide us with instant access to information. Because of all this, we have more time available than ever before. This time is an opportunity, but this opportunity also poses a challenge. The question isn’t whether we have time, but how we use it.

Human life should not be limited to fulfilling daily needs. If our entire life were spent solely on cooking, cleaning, and making a living, it would be an injustice to life’s potential. The purpose of life is not merely to survive but to live meaningfully. Technology provides us with the opportunity to move forward in this direction. It serves as a means, not an end. This is where choice becomes crucial. When we have more options, our responsibility also increases. We can use our time to acquire knowledge, to engage in art, or to create something creative for society, or we can waste it in entertainment and passive consumption. This choice is the foundation of our lives. It determines the direction of our lives. This problem has become even more profound in today’s digital age. Social media, online entertainment, and countless digital options constantly captivate us. These platforms capture our attention and trap us in a cycle where time disappears completely. As a result, the time we could have devoted to self-development or social contribution is gradually lost. This situation forces us to wonder whether we are truly masters of technology or whether we are becoming its slaves. Technology was meant to liberate us, but if we are not vigilant, that same technology can bind us into a new kind of dependence.

In this context, we must consider another important turning point in history. During the Renaissance, a prominent view emerged that we can call instrumental logic. In this, logic and knowledge were seen primarily as a means to control nature. Modern science developed based on this perspective. It gave humans immense power, but it also posed the danger that we would begin to view nature and our own lives solely from the perspective of use and control. If our choices remain confined to this limited perspective, they will be neither beneficial to humanity nor sustainable for nature. We must incorporate prudence and responsibility into our decisions. Technology should not be used merely for convenience but for a broader and moral purpose. We must constantly question how we are using our time. Are we using the opportunities provided by technology to develop our personalities? Are we doing something meaningful for society and humanity? Or are we simply spending our lives in momentary pleasure and entertainment?

Technology in itself is neither good nor bad. Its essence depends on how we use it. If we make conscious, prudent, and responsible choices, technology will enrich our lives. Otherwise, the same technology can trap us in a cycle where freedom becomes merely an illusion. In this age of choice, the most important need is clarity of purpose. When our purpose is clear, our decisions will also be meaningful. Technology gives us an opportunity, but making that opportunity meaningful is entirely in our hands. This is the greatest challenge and possibility of our time.
